1. Different references
1, 304: is a common raw material in stainless steel, the density of 7.93g /cm3, the industry is also called 18/8 stainless steel.
2, 316l: is a stainless steel data mark, AISI 316L is the corresponding American label, sus 316L is the corresponding Japanese label. The consistent number code for our country is S31603.
Two, the content is different
1, 304: adhere to the inherent corrosion resistance of stainless steel, steel is necessary to contain more than 18% chromium, more than 8% nickel content. 304 stainless steel is a trademark of stainless steel produced in accordance with the American ASTM specification.
2, 316l: belongs to 18-8 type austenitic stainless steel derivative steel, adding 2 ~ 3% Mo element. On the basis of 316L, many steel grades are also derived, for example, 316Ti is derived after adding a few Ti, 316N is derived after adding a few N, and 317L is derived from adding Ni and Mo content.
Three, use different
1, 304: with outstanding processing functions and weldability. Plate heat exchangers, bellows, household goods (1, 2 types of tableware, cabinets, indoor pipelines, water heaters, boilers, bathtubs), auto parts (windshield wipers, mufflers, molding products), medical appliances, building materials, chemicals, food industry, agriculture, ship parts, etc.
2, 316l: 16 corrosion resistance is better than 304 in high temperature environment more corrosion resistance. Therefore, in high temperature environments, engineers generally choose parts with 316 data.
