II. Core Issues and Industry Impact

1. Accelerated Green and Low-Carbon Transformation

The conference focuses on technological breakthroughs such as hydrogen metallurgy, CCUS, and extreme energy efficiency. According to the data from the China Iron and Steel Association, as of April 2025, 141 steel enterprises in China have completed ultra-low emission renovations, involving a total crude steel production capacity of 591 million tons, with the total steel per ton energy consumption decreasing by 2.1%. Hebei Iron and Steel Group's hydrogen metallurgy project reduces 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, Baotou's CCUS project sequesters 390,000 tons per year, providing a replicable sample for the industry.

2. Deep Integration of Intelligent Manufacturing

Xingcheng Special Steel's "Lighthouse Factory" uses AI visual inspection systems to identify 0.02 millimeters of steel cracks within 0.1 seconds; China Baowu's "black-light factory" has achieved fully automated operation throughout the process, with production efficiency increased by 30%. The "Three-Year Action Plan for Digital Transformation in the Steel Industry" released at the conference clearly sets the goal of establishing 50 intelligent factory benchmarks by 2026.

3. International Cooperation and Supply Chain Resilience

In response to the global reconfiguration of the industrial chain, the conference promoted technological cooperation between China and Japan, initiated the "Global Low-Carbon Metallurgy Innovation Alliance", and conducted discussions on the impact of the US tariff policies. In the first five months of 2025, China's net export of crude steel exceeded 50 million tons, with the proportion of low-carbon emission steel rising to 35%, demonstrating the penetration power of technological innovation in the international market.

4. Policy Leadership and Standard Construction

The China Iron and Steel Association released the "Carbon Emission Accounting Method for Steel Production Enterprises", promoting the fairness of the national carbon market quota allocation mechanism; the compilation of the "Low-Carbon Emission Steel Standard" has begun, helping China's steel industry gain a say in the formulation of international carbon tariff rules.

III. Industry Collaboration and Future Outlook

This year's Steel Week integrated the conference, exhibition, and business negotiations organically, forming a "Technology Exchange - Result Display - Trade Cooperation" closed loop. At the Metallurgical Exhibition, the innovative achievements of 600 enterprises were showcased, with intelligent equipment, green materials, and digital solutions covering the entire industrial chain; the Steel Structure Building Exhibition promoted the application of "Steel Instead of Wood" and "Steel Instead of Concrete", helping the construction industry achieve a low-carbon transformation.

Just as the executive director of the China Iron and Steel Association, He Wenbo, said: "The steel industry is at a historical turning point. Only by embracing change with an open attitude can it gain the upper hand in global competition." This grand event is not only a concentrated review of industry achievements, but also a strategic layout for the future - through technological innovation breakthroughs, deepening international cooperation, and upgrading the synergy of the industrial chain, China's steel industry is leading the global industry towards a higher quality and more sustainable direction.
